Fraser Island Retreat is located in East Gippsland Victoria, Australia. The island is 31 hectares and is nestled between Rigby and Flanagan Islands and can only be reached by boat. Fraser Island Retreat offers accommodation in a wonderful 100-year-old homestead “Kawar” built on high ground with commanding views of the surrounding Lakes. “Kawar” homestead has wide sweeping verandahs with 11 bedrooms and can accommodate 36 guests in shared rooms. There is also an bunkhouse that can sleep 11 guests with a separate shower and toilet block. The Island is home to Kangaroos, hog deer, and numerous bird life. The Island has private sandy beaches, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a nine-hole golf course.

Amazing – the whole island is a delight to walk around. The bedrooms are all a good size, beds are comfy, some rooms have ensuites. The kitchen is a dream to cook in and the activities you can do are endless. Everything is spot on. An absolute dream.
The island is so beautiful, heaps of wild life, the bedrooms were clean and beautiful, the was absolutely everything you needed in the kitchen etc, but the most wonderful thing was having Andrew the care taker there, he was very kind and helpful. Would recommend to everyone.
A big thankyou to Andrew for all his help went out of his way to accommodate everyone there. Only thing is the couches in the lounge need to up graded, also new toasters would be good. Found so much to do. Tennis, golf ,swimming, games room was great.
What an experience! After spending a fantastic weekend on the island, I can truly say it was one of the best getaways. We were a group of 16 and could not believe the amount of space, comfort and overall beauty that the island and the homestead had to offer. We were warmly greeted by the wonderful Andrew who I must mention was an incredible host. He met out every needs without hesitation.
The homestead is grand and spacious, with numerous bedrooms, a spacious dining room for long lazy family dinners, a large kitchen that was perfect for preparing feasts, multiple fireplaces, a cozy lounge and an extensive balcony for reclining on. With a sprawling green lawn, pool, tennis court, golf course, private beach, BBQ and pizza oven outside, there’s a lot to keep you entertained.
We spent just two nights on Fraser Island Retreat, though it felt like we’d been gone for a lot longer as this spot is a true break from reality. It’s such a treat to have a whole island to yourself and the whole place has a very tranquil vibe. looking after us when we needed it, while giving us privacy the rest of the time. We’ll definitely be back again, it was the ultimate vacation.
What more can I say, Daniel & Charmaine absolute legends! Got to spend 4 days over on Fraser Island and the team at RE/MAX made sure everything was spot on. Firstly Charmaine made sure everything was possible, even though massive winds hit the area knocking down trees and turning off the power the night before arrival, not once was this a worry for us as they made sure everything went ahead. Next what can i say about Daniel, this man is a true legend, was there to help with anything we needed and was never a burden when he showed his face, a real kind and thoughtful man and let us enjoy ourselves. Could not ask for better people to work with that are honest and friendly, and cannot recommend or speak anymore highly of.
